The verdict is in.....

After a few weeks of lots of stress with job situations and not knowing where our future was going to take us, we now have news! Two weeks ago Blanchard laid off 200 people. Joe was not one of them....so this made us wonder if they were going to make him finish out his training program or if they were going to go ahead and place him in his regular position. We heard last week that they did in fact want him to go ahead and start in his new position. He reported to Pioneer Blanchard (I think that's what they call it...Blanchard bought Pioneer) on Thursday. His new title is Sales Manager and he works with the forrestry and recycling salesmen to get the sale completed and make sure everything goes smoothly and everyone is happy and has what they need. This being said....we are staying in Columbia. We didn't know where he would be placed, so there were lots of questions, but now we know and can get start looking at houses and the areas that we want to buy. We're actually going to look at 2 houses tonight, one in Lexington and one in Gilbert, and two on Thursday, both in the same neighborhood on Lake Murray. This in itself is incredibly stressful because you have to think about so many different things, but we're going to make it as fun as possible! We hate that we aren't going to be able to come back to the Upstate any time soon, but we also are happy to finally know something and can start the next steps in getting everything situated down here. So, keep your eyes and ears open...we may need some movers/painters/helpers in the near future!
