New jobs...

Joe and I started new jobs Monday. Well, his was just the next step in the trainee program at Blanchard, but mine was a totally new job at Richland Lexington Disabilities and Special Needs Board. I'm really excited because this place is actually caring about the person, not the number they get from the type of closure the case recieves. There are no closures, the only goal is to "support the people we serve to lead complete and whole lives, and to exercise their rights and responsibilities as citizens to the fullest." We're pretty much making sure they have everything they need and being an advocate for them in their lives. I'm working with the autism caseload, something I'm extremely interested in. It's really what I've been wanting to do or what I thought of when I saw myself as a social worker. Yay! Joe is still happy about his job also. He's at the compact equipment division, rearranging their warehouse. There seems to be the common theme of them asking him to come in and fix things they've been slack about. He's great at what he does, and I'm really happy for him. Life is good, the grass is green (sort of), the good Lord's smiling on you and me....
