X-Mas

Our church is currently doing a sermon series called X-Mas, Putting the X back in X-Mas. It stems from the Advent Conspiracy movement. In a very non-conclusive sentence, the idea is that we need to put Christ back in Christmas and stop worrying about spending billions of dollars each year (that we usually don't have) and focus on honoring God during this time. As our pastor put it...the spirit of gift giving is not a bad thing, it's when you honor the gods of capitalism, materialsm, and debt on the day that you should be honoring your God that it's wrong. One of the examples that was shown to honor God during this time at our church was through Living Water International, an organization that digs clean water wells in other countries, while spreading the love of Christ. The money from the items I'm selling in the post below, as well as money I usually spend on presents that most people probably won't remember in February is going toward a well through this organization.
