Joe surprised me for our one year anniversary by taking me up to Black Mountain, NC. The place is georgeous! Right next to it is Montreat, the prettiest college town ever. Every building is made of stones....it's so perfect and serene. I used to go to Montreat every summer with church, but I haven't been in a few years, so it was so cool to get to go back and see everything! Friday we went up and shopped around Black Mountain and Montreat, then went to eat at My Father's House (the best pizza ever consumed hands down!) and then went up to Lake Tomahawk to find the elusive flower that opens at sunset. FYI, you should ask what color flower you're looking for to find this flower. We never found the flower, but took some pretty pictures. Saturday we went to Asheville and shopped around a little while. While we were driving back towards Black Mountain we got a call from Kirby Player who was in Asheville celebrating he and Marilyn's "engagement anniversary" and were having dinner at the Biltmore Estate, so we got treated to dinner at the vineyards...WOW!! Saturday night we went back to the B&B. Each morning we were treated to AMAZING breakfasts with as fresh as you can make them berries picked from the side porch of the house. Everybody should definitely visit this B&B, The Bella Luna Inn. The people were amazing, the whole place was amazing......made for a great weekend and wrap up of our first year!
